1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Use apply to your access to and use of HalloweenOnSaturday.com, referred to in these Terms as the “Website.”

By accessing or using the Website, creating an account, or submitting information through the Website, you agree to these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Website or create an account.

2. Purpose of the Website

Halloween on Saturday is an informational and advocacy project supporting the idea of observing Halloween and related community activities on the last Saturday of October.

The Website may provide information, educational materials, community-support statistics, registration tools, and other resources related to this effort.

The Website also provides tools that may allow individuals to create accounts, express their interest in Halloween on Saturday, become Founding Members, manage communication preferences, and participate in other features offered by the Website.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Halloween on Saturday does not organize, operate, supervise, sponsor, approve, or control local Halloween celebrations, trick-or-treating activities, parties, festivals, parades, haunted attractions, or other events.

3. Voluntary Participation

Participation in trick-or-treating or any other Halloween-related activity is completely voluntary.

Each individual, parent, guardian, family, resident, property owner, business, school, organization, and municipality independently decides whether, when, where, and how to participate.

Individuals who choose to distribute candy, food, beverages, toys, prizes, or other items do so voluntarily and independently.

Individuals who choose to visit homes, receive treats, attend events, wear costumes, decorate property, or participate in other Halloween activities also do so voluntarily and independently.

Use of this Website does not require any person to participate in Halloween activities, provide treats, open their property to visitors, attend an event, or interact with other participants.

4. Personal Responsibility and Supervision

Every participant is responsible for making their own decisions and taking reasonable precautions concerning personal safety, children, costumes, food, allergies, traffic, weather, property conditions, animals, lighting, transportation, and interactions with other people.

Parents and legal guardians are solely responsible for deciding whether a minor may participate and for providing any supervision they consider appropriate.

Halloween on Saturday does not provide supervision, security, transportation, medical assistance, emergency services, childcare, traffic control, food inspection, background checks, or safety inspections.

5. No Responsibility for Other People’s Conduct

Halloween on Saturday does not control and is not responsible for the conduct, statements, decisions, omissions, property, products, services, or activities of any Website user or third party.

This includes the conduct of residents, visitors, parents, guardians, children, property owners, businesses, volunteers, event organizers, schools, organizations, government entities, municipalities, or other members of the public.

Halloween on Saturday is not responsible for disputes, injuries, illnesses, allergic reactions, food-related incidents, accidents, property damage, theft, criminal conduct, traffic incidents, weather-related events, animal-related incidents, or other losses connected with trick-or-treating or Halloween-related activities.

6. No Guarantee About Dates or Participation

Halloween practices and official event dates may vary by neighborhood, municipality, school, organization, business, or event organizer.

The Website does not guarantee that any community, government entity, organization, business, household, or individual will recognize, support, or participate in Halloween on a particular date.

Users should confirm local schedules, rules, road closures, event information, and safety guidance directly with the appropriate local authorities or event organizers.

7. Information Provided on the Website

Website content is provided for general informational, educational, and advocacy purposes.

Although reasonable efforts may be made to keep information accurate, Halloween on Saturday does not guarantee that all information is complete, current, error-free, or suitable for every person or situation.

Nothing on the Website constitutes legal, medical, safety, emergency, governmental, or other professional advice.

8. User Accounts

You agree to provide truthful and reasonably accurate information when creating or updating an account.

You are responsible for maintaining accurate account information, including your email address, phone number, mailing information, and communication preferences.

You are responsible for protecting your password and for activity occurring through your account.

If you choose to become a Founding Member, you are responsible for ensuring that any information you submit for public display is accurate and that you have the right to publish it.

You may not impersonate another person, create fraudulent registrations, submit intentionally misleading information, attempt to access another user’s account, or interfere with the security or operation of the Website.

Halloween on Saturday may suspend, restrict, or remove an account when reasonably necessary to protect the Website, its users, or the integrity of community-support data.

9. Public Founding Member Information

Information you voluntarily submit for a Founding Member profile may be displayed publicly on the Website after review and approval.

Public profile information may include your name, city, state, brief description, website, social media links, and other information you choose to submit for public display.

You should not submit confidential, sensitive, or private information that you do not want to be publicly available.

By submitting information for public display, you grant Halloween on Saturday a nonexclusive, royalty-free license to display, format, reproduce, and distribute that information through the Website and materials used to promote the Website or its purpose.

Halloween on Saturday reserves the right to edit for formatting, decline, hide, or remove public profile content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive, infringes another person’s rights, or is inconsistent with the purpose or operation of the Website.

10. Communications and Communication Preferences

The Website may allow you to choose whether to receive optional communications by email, text message, or postal mail.

You are responsible for keeping your contact information and communication preferences accurate.

You may update your communication preferences through your profile page, including opting out of email, text messages, postal mail, or all optional communications.

Opting out of optional communications does not prevent Halloween on Saturday from sending messages reasonably necessary to operate or secure your account, complete a request you initiated, or provide legally required notices.

Message and data rates may apply to text messages according to your mobile carrier and service plan.

11. Registration Does Not Create a Partnership

Creating an account, registering support, subscribing to updates, becoming a Founding Member, or otherwise using the Website does not create an employment relationship, agency, partnership, joint venture, franchise, fiduciary relationship, or formal membership organization.

13. Third-Party Websites and Activities

The Website may mention or link to third-party websites, organizations, events, products, services, or resources.

A reference or link does not necessarily mean that Halloween on Saturday sponsors, endorses, controls, or guarantees that third party.

Your interactions with third parties are between you and those third parties. Their own terms, policies, and practices may apply.

14. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the Website’s original text, graphics, logos, branding, layout, and other original content are owned by or licensed to Halloween on Saturday and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
